I took Pistol 1, Pistol 2, and my Concealed Carry class at Maxon Shooters with Shawn, and I cannot recommend him or this facility enough. I started with absolutely no experience and now feel confident, informed, and safe on the range. Shawn is an incredible instructor. He is knowledgeable, easygoing, professional, and makes learning feel fun and approachable. Maxon Shooters is modern, clean, and held to a very high standard, with a strong emphasis on safety that made me feel completely comfortable as a woman. I took these classes with my girlfriends and we all had an amazing experience. I am officially hooked on this new hobby and will definitely be back for more classes.

Booking & Cancellation
Training classes, appointments, and range reservations are non-refundable. However, you may reschedule once for no additional cost with at least 72 hours' notice. A 25% fee will be applied for multiple reschedules or for rescheduling with less than 72 hours' notice. For FOID/CCL application assistance, failure to show or less than 3 days' notice will result in a 25% rescheduling fee. Gift Certificates, Range Fees, and Range Passes are non-refundable.

I booked a private lesson to become more comfortable with field stripping my 3 pistols, two of which are 1911s. David Sa was a fantastic instructor - he disassembled and reassembled each gun twice, and then I did the same, twice. David was able to answer all my questions and help me find workarounds for aspects of the field stripping process that challenged me in terms of hand strength. I came away from the lesson feeling 100% more comfortable that I can field strip, clean, and reassemble my pistols properly and safely! Update: I did it - I was able to field strip and clean my "toughest" pistol this afternoon... huzzah!
Maxon is an incredible indoor range, and I highly recommend it for both the range and supplies. My friend and I had a fantastic experience here. This place is exactly what we’ve been searching for. I’m definitely going back and taking my friends to enjoy the experience as well.
I was nervous to go to the course as a novice to guns. But ultimately, there was nothing to worry about. The range is really modern, everybody was nice, the customers were diverse, snacks and drinks vending available. The course was incredibly informative and Alex made it easy to understand and feel safe around guns. In-class handling of pistols was incredibly helpful in ensuring that we felt comfortable and shooting on the gun range was a ton of fun! Would highly recommend. Bring snacks and drinks as the course is five hours with about 25 min of breaks built in but not enough time for a full lunch. We are considering the pistol 2 course and the concealed carry course after taking this one.
